Cadwalader's antitrust leaders are hailed as "incredibly accomplished and bright" and provide "U.S. and international antitrust advice to major corporations on bet-the-company matters"  - Chambers USA

Cadwalader offers transatlantic antitrust representation with market-leading practitioners based in New York, Washington, London and Brussels. Our attorneys regularly appear before the antitrust authorities and courts in those jurisdictions, and include a number of former government officials.

We represent corporate and financial services clients in the full range of antitrust-related matters, including antitrust compliance and counselling, antitrust investigations, antitrust litigation and disputes, and merger clearance:

  • Antitrust Compliance & Counselling: We make it our business to understand our client’s business. We work closely with our clients to assess and mitigate the risk of antitrust misconduct and investigations with targeted assessments of their business practices  We also provide ongoing counselling on the full spectrum of antitrust issues, such as horizontal cooperation with competitors and supply arrangements, and we offer employee training tailored to the relevant industry.
  • Antitrust Investigations: Our attorneys have experience in complex, transatlantic investigations.  When suspicions or allegations of antitrust misconduct arise, we offer our clients practical and strategic advice on how best to respond, taking into account all material eventualities from the beginning to the end of the process, and across legal disciplines and jurisdictions.  When parallel investigations arise, we work closely with our financial regulatory and white collar colleagues.
  • Antitrust Litigation & Disputes: Our antitrust litigation team has the capabilities and insight to represent clients in complex, high-stakes litigation, including class actions, in multiple districts and jurisdictions, and across the entire range of antitrust issues.
  • Merger Clearance: We also provide strategic and practical support to our corporate colleagues to ensure a smooth merger clearance process for clients involved in mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures that give rise to filing requirements.  Our capabilities include litigating cases before US courts when necessary, navigating in-depth investigations by European authorities, and providing a one-stop shop for obtaining merger clearance in multiple jurisdictions worldwide.
