Michael Glenn represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation and crisis management matters across state and federal courts, covering securities fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, corporate governance disputes, intellectual property, shareholder derivative actions, and M&A litigation.

His practice spans all stages of litigation from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal, and includes leading internal investigations for publicly-traded companies and advising boards, special committees, and investors on corporate governance matters including takeover defense and contests for corporate control.

Before joining Cadwalader, Michael served as a law clerk to the Honorable Leslie H. Southwick of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Honorable K. Michael Moore of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and as a litigation associate at Kirkland & Ellis and two other leading international law firms.

Michael also served eight years as an active duty U.S. Army officer, including two combat deployments during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and his military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Parachutist Badge. Michael has extensive pro bono experience including federal habeas proceedings and asylum proceedings.

  • Represented AngioDynamics, Inc. at trial and appeal against patent infringement claims seeking more than $200 million in damages, and achieved affirmance of patent invalidity from the Federal Circuit.
  • Represented large group of bondholders with an investment in excess of $300 million in a dispute over the interpretation of a bond indenture and obtained reversal of adverse summary judgment decision.
  • Advised a New York hedge fund and two individual defendants in a shareholder derivative action brought on behalf of a major car rental corporation and obtained dismissal with prejudice of the matter.
  • Advised global international music star and fashion icon in contractual disputes with two leading apparel and footwear corporations, and achieved a widely-covered favorable resolution for the client.
  • Advised the Board of a leading cannabis-lifestyle and consumer packaged goods company in an internal investigation regarding the Board’s evaluation of shareholder allegations against the company.
  • Represented a New York-based insurance and financial services company and its CEO in multiple litigation matters, including a widely reported case involving civil RICO and lender-liability claims.
  • Advised global insurance company in federal litigation where it sought to collect on a personal guaranty related to the guarantor’s coal mining companies, based on the companies’ contractual breaches.
  • Represented a global private investment firm and its portfolio company in a mass tort MDL involving $300 million in damages arising from a massive chemical plant explosion in Port Neches, Texas.
  • Advised a leading international cruise line and its CEO and CFO in a pandemic-related securities fraud class action and obtained complete dismissal of all claims at the motion-to-dismiss stage.
  • Represented global engineering firm in over 20 separate lawsuits and multiple government investigations arising from the tragic collapse of a pedestrian bridge at Florida International University.
  • Represented global biopharmaceutical company in three False Claims Act suits alleging statutory violations in connection with patient support services, and obtained complete dismissal of all matters.
  • Represented leading toy, clothing, and baby product retailer in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and the company’s subsequent liquidation.
