Fred Altschuler advises institutional lenders, investment banks, real estate developers, and public entities on commercial real estate finance transactions across all major property types, with a practice spanning more than five decades and covering all segments of the marketplace.
His work covers acquisition, financing, mortgage securitization, disposition, and leasing of commercial real estate, including construction, interim and permanent financings, CMBS origination and conduit program establishment, workouts of nonperforming loans, foreclosures, and the disposition of properties acquired through distressed situations. Fred also advises investors in the acquisition, financing, restructuring, and disposition of performing and nonperforming loans and properties.
Fred has represented major public sector clients, including Battery Park City Authority, the City of New York, the State of New York, and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority on significant development projects, including the World Financial Center, the Holocaust Museum, and numerous mixed-use developments across the New York metropolitan area.
