Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, a leading counselor to global corporations and financial institutions, is ranked number one in deal value as both issuer’s counsel and underwriter’s counsel in the Mortgage-Backed Securities category in The American Lawyer 2014 Corporate Scorecard.
The firm served as issuer’s counsel on 81 issues, representing more than $60 billion in value, and as underwriter’s counsel on 46 issues, representing more than $36 billion. The firm topped both categories in last year’s deal value tables as well. In addition, in the Asset-Backed Securities deal volume tables, Cadwalader is ranked third as issuer’s counsel and second as underwriter’s counsel, advising on 24 and 32 transactions, respectively.
Earlier this year, Cadwalader was recognized as the top commercial mortgage securitization practice in the nation by Commercial Mortgage Alert. It marked the fourteenth consecutive year in which Cadwalader was ranked first in the publication’s “Top Issuer Counsel” category in both the midyear and end-of-year rankings.
