Aaron Kennedy is an associate in the Capital Markets Group. His practice is concentrated in the area of structured finance, with an emphasis on commercial mortgage-backed and CRE CLO securitization transactions, warehouse lending and the workout and restructuring of securitized and other financial assets. Aaron represents investment banks and financial institutions in their roles as issuers, underwriters, placement agents and mortgage loan sellers in both public and private offerings of commercial mortgage-backed securities and other structured finance products. He also regularly represents mortgage loan sellers in structuring and negotiating commercial mortgage loan sales, mortgage loan participations and co-lender arrangements, and advises buy-side and sell-side institutions in connection with synthetic securitizations, credit-linked notes and other credit-risk transfer (CRT) products.
Aaron was included in the 2024, 2025 and 2026 editions of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for Securities / Capital Markets Law.
Aaron received his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi, his Master of Science in Finance from the Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. He is admitted to practice in North Carolina.
