Nicholas Diamond-Krendel is a senior attorney in the Finance Group in Cadwalader's London office. Nicholas’ practice focuses on advising financial institutions, private equity sponsors (and their portfolio companies), funds and multi-national corporates on a wide range of financing transactions, with a particular emphasis on cross-border acquisition and leveraged finance, as well as high yield financings, debt restructurings and refinancings.

Prior to joining Cadwalader, Nicholas was Counsel in the finance practice of another major global law firm, and has spent time on secondment at PayPal and Lone Star Funds. Nicholas was also previously a Senior Director of Fitch-owned Covenant Review and a Co-Founder of a luxury retail business, Paradise Row.

Representative experience prior to joining Cadwalader includes acting for:

  • Advent International on the financing of various acquisitions as well as refinancings, recapitalisations and bids including the take-private of Brammer plc and subsequent reverse bolt-on acquisition of IPH France from PAI Partners
  • The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board on its acquisition of Logoplaste, a leading manufacturer of innovative and sustainable rigid plastic packaging solutions for the world’s premier FMCG brands
  • Ares Management Corporation and Goldman Sachs Asset Management on their participation in the recommended cash offer for Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice
  • Novalpina Capital in relation to its first investment, a high yield bond backed take private of Baltics casino operator Olympic Entertainment Group, one of the only P2P transactions to take place in Estonia since the collapse of the Soviet Union
  • Towerbrook Capital Partners and Infopro in relation to its high yield bond backed acquisition of Docu Group
  • Goldman Sachs as arranger of the financing supporting the £800m acquisition of SkyBet by CVC
  • Goldman Sachs in respect of its up to £12.2 billion bridge financing in support of 21st Century Fox’s bid for the share capital in Sky plc that it did not already own
  • Goldman Sachs Asset Management as lender, in connection with Insight Partner’s acquisitions of I@D International and AMCS
  • Montagu Private Equity in relation to its acquisition of OASIS, a leading European records and information management company
  • Permira Private Equity on its private credit backed acquisition of Hana Group, the global sushi retailer
  • ING, JP Morgan and Rabobank as arrangers in respect of the financing of Waterland’s investment in The Cookware Co.
  • OMERS Private Equity on the acquisition of UK/US recruitment business Alexander Mann Solutions
  • Oaktree Capital on the global sale of Fitness First
  • PAI Partners in its acquisition of Swissport and its subsequent acquisition and merger of the Servisair group of companies
  • Arcadia Group in relation to its refinancing as part of the sale of BHS Group to Retail Acquisitions Limited
  • JP Morgan and ING Bank in relation to the first and second lien loan backed acquisition by Apax Partners of Azelis, a Belgium chemical distributor, from 3I
  • PAI Partners in its bid for European bottler of soft drinks, Refresco Gerber
  • Bank of America Merrill Lynch in connection with its £125 million RCF for Manchester United as part of its group refinancing
  • Vue Cinemas in relation to their bond tap in support of the acquisition of The Space Entertainment, Italy’s largest cinema chain
  • Advent International in respect of its investment in Anglo-Dutch software company Unit 4
  • The underwriting banks in respect of Liberty Global’s €10 billion acquisition of Dutch cable operator Ziggo
  • Providence Equity Partners on their acquisitions of the Ambassador Theatre Group and Study Group respectively
