Cadwalader Submits Amicus Brief on Behalf of Structured Finance Association (SFA) in Connection with Hertz Bankruptcy

July 17, 2020

Cadwalader submitted an amicus brief on behalf of the Structured Finance Association (SFA) position in connection with the Hertz Global Holdings Inc. bankruptcy. The rental car giant filed for Chapter 11 protection in May after its business was heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The amicus brief, which focused primarily on matters of policy and structure related to Hertz’s securitization platform, was a collaborative effort involving the firm’s Capital Markets, Financial Restructuring and Litigation groups. The team was led by Neil Weidner and Greg Petrick and included Jason Halper, Ingrid Bagby, Michele Maman, Charles Munn and Ruth Merisier. The related motion will be heard in July.
