Cadwalader’s Chris Hughes Named “Life Sciences Star” in Inaugural Edition of LMG Life Sciences

Christopher A. Hughes, head of the Intellectual Property Practice Group at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, a leading counselor to global financial institutions and corporations, has been named a “Life Sciences Star” in the inaugural edition of LMG Life Sciences 2012. Published by the Legal Media Group in association with Benchmark: Litigation, Managing IP, and IFLR, LMG Life Sciences is a resource for pharmaceutical and life sciences in-house counsel seeking legal expertise.

Mr. Hughes counsels clients in a variety of intellectual property issues and strategies for protecting innovation in the life sciences field. He has extensive experience handling patent infringement trials and litigation for clients in such life science disciplines as sophisticated medical devices, prosthetic devices, diagnostic techniques, and related pharmaceuticals. He has also handled and directed patent litigation on an international scale, including coordinating patent infringement trials and hearings throughout Europe while leading corresponding litigation activities in the U.S. where he handles patent trials in district courts around the U.S., in the ITC and in arbitrations. Mr. Hughes has written and lectured on a variety of patent topics including claim construction, patent injunctions following the eBay decision, and most recently, he co-authored an article entitled “Healthcare Statute Signals Major Change for Biosimilar Products,” published in IAM Life Sciences 250.
