Practice Support Assistant – Real Estate Finance

The Real Estate Finance team at Cadwalader is seeking a Practice Support Assistant to provide support to our Real Estate Finance practice. The successful candidate will assist attorneys and paralegals with various tasks related to loan transactions, mortgage-backed securities, and other real estate finance matters. Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for loan origination, acquisition and disposition transactions, including mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortgage loans, and other real estate finance matters
  • Assist with preparation of loan documents, such as security instruments, promissory notes, and financing statements
  • Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and clients to gather and organize documentation for loan transactions
  • Maintain and organize files, both physical and electronic, related to loan transactions and client matters
  • Assist with preparation of closing binders and other document packages
  • Coordinate internally and with clients regarding flood searches, “know your customer” requirements, and other client driven processes
  • Conduct research and gather information related to loan transactions and real estate finance matters
  • Manage and maintain databases and spreadsheets related to loan transactions and client matters
  • Prepare and process various documents, including mortgage assignments, modifications, and releases
  • Assist with due diligence reviews
  • Coordinate with internal teams, such as document management and mail services, to ensure efficient processing of documents
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
