Matthew Feig is a special counsel in the firm’s Capital Markets Group. Matthew concentrates his practice on risk-linked securities and structured and corporate finance, and has particular experience in the areas of catastrophe bonds, cell tower transactions and other asset classes.

Matthew has written several articles on structured finance issues, including “The Credit Crisis and Insurance-Linked Securities: No Catastrophe for Catastrophe Bonds” in The Journal of Structured Finance, and co-authored a chapter in The Handbook of Insurance-Linked Securities. He also was a speaker at the SIFMA IRLS conference. 

Matthew was named a Rising Star in the 2020 edition of IFLR 1000, and was a member of the Cadwalader team that served as transaction counsel on the Fidus Re insurance-linked bond, which was named Life Transaction of the Year at the 2019 Trading Risk Awards.

Matthew received his B.A. from New York University and his J.D. from Columbia Law. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York.

Casablanca Re Pte Ltd. Transaction counsel and counsel to Avatar Property and Casualty Insurance Company in the issuance of a Florida named storm $65M cat bond in 144A format.
 
Residential Reinsurance 2020. Underwriter’s counsel for Goldman Sachs and Swiss Re in a U.S. tropical cyclones, earthquakes (plus fire following), severe thunderstorm, winter storm, wildfire, volcanic eruption, meteorite impact, other perils (all including auto & renter policy flood losses $100M cat bond in 144A format for USAA.
 
Sutter Re Ltd. POSI counsel to AIG in issuance of a California Earthquake $700M cat bond in 144A format for the California Earthquake Authority.
 
Everglades Re II Ltd. POSI counsel to AIG in issuance of a Florida named storms in $110M cat bond in 144A format for Citizens Property Insurance.
