Martese Johnson is an associate in Cadwalader’s Capital Markets Group. His practice is focused in the area of structured finance, with an emphasis on CMBS securitization transactions. He represents investment banks and financial institutions in their roles as issuers, underwriters, placement agents and mortgage loan sellers in both public and private offerings of commercial mortgage-backed securities. Martese also represents investment banks, private equity funds, alternative asset managers, corporations, private clients, and other investors and lenders in various Real Estate transactions, including complex acquisitions, dispositions, financings, joint ventures and leasing.
Martese received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as a Student Attorney within the Civil Rights Litigation Initiative and a Graduate Student Instructor for the Anthropology and International and Comparative Studies Programs. He received his B.A. in Italian Studies from the University of Virginia, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and the IMP Society.
