Jayshree Balakrishnan focuses her practice on complex commercial disputes before state and federal courts, and white collar matters and investigations.

Jayshree represents a wide variety of corporate and individual clients, including clients in the financial services, manufacturing, and oil and gas industries. Her practice also covers corporate governance and employment investigations, anti-bribery and corruption compliance, and state and federal regulatory enforcement investigations.

While earning her J.D. at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, Jayshree was Chief Notes Editor of the Washington University Law Review and a teaching fellow for the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Program. She gained hands-on experience as a student attorney in the First Amendment Clinic and through internships at the United States District Court, Southern District of New York and the Investment Management Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Jayshree maintains an active pro bono practice and is a member of the South Asian Bar Association of New York.

  • Advising a U.S. multinational oil service company on FCPA, anti-bribery and corruption, and sanctions compliance for M&A transactions.
  • Advised multiple employees and a multinational investment bank and financial services company in internal investigations and related subpoenas arising from the SEC's review of books and records compliance and off-channel communications regulation.
  • Represented a court-appointed guardian of a media personality in an action against the creators and distributors of a documentary.
