Cadwalader’s Nick Shiren Featured Speaker at Creditflux’s CLO Symposium 2022

May 11, 2022

Cadwalader partner Nick Shiren was a featured speaker at Creditflux's CLO Symposium 2022, at which he discussed the core features of CRE CLOs as part of a fireside chat.

Shiren addressed several notable elements of the CRE CLO asset class, including:

  • How CRE CLOs compare to CMBS, other types of CLOs and other CRE funding tools;
  • Unique considerations in structuring a CRE CLO, including a cost-benefit analysis as compared to alternative funding methods;
  • Differences in bringing a CRE CLO to market in the U.S. versus Europe, with the latter likely involving the complexity of multi-jurisdictional loans; and
  • Core features of the first European CRE CLO that closed last year, the Starz CRE CLO, on which Cadwalader advised.

The full discussion is available on demand upon registration here.

Shiren’s practice focuses on a broad range of capital markets and financing transactions, with a focus on structured finance. He has extensive experience in commercial real estate warehouse lending and advised Credit Suisse on the first European CRE CLO.
