Cadwalader Attorneys Featured in Legal Media Group’s 2021 ‘Rising Stars’ Expert Guides

Cadwalader has been recognized in the seventh edition of Legal Media Group’s “Rising Stars,” as part of its Expert Guides series. “Rising Stars” are recently appointed partners, counsels and senior associates under 40 “who have already been recognized for their work in the background of important transactions.”

Cadwalader attorneys who are featured as leaders in their respective practice areas include:

  • Alexander Collins (Structured Finance and Securitization – United Kingdom) focuses on structured finance, with an emphasis on CLOs. In respect of CLOs, he has represented arrangers, asset managers and warehouse finance providers in connection with a variety of European CLO 2.0 transactions and warehouse facilities. Collins also acts on a wide range of cross-border structured finance transactions including asset-backed middle-market/direct lending facilities, bespoke structured repackaging transactions and synthetic risk transfer transactions.
  • Michael Powell (Patents – United States) handles patent litigation in a variety of technology areas, including medical devices, wireless telecommunications, consumer products, and computer hardware and software. He represents clients in patent infringement lawsuits filed in U.S. district courts, as well as in the United States International Trade Commission. He also represents clients in appeals to the Federal Circuit and other appellate courts.
  • Kevin Sholette (Real Estate – United States) concentrates in the area of real estate finance and securitization, primarily representing financial institutions in connection with the origination of mortgage and mezzanine loans directly or indirectly secured by commercial office buildings, retail properties, hotels, warehouses, data centers, and multifamily housing, including multi-state, multi-property pooled transactions. He also has experience in the servicing and sale of mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, and participation interests, and with repurchase facilities.

The publication’s research process involved sending over 10,000 questionnaires to senior practitioners in each listed practice area in more than 60 jurisdictions, with the request to nominate individuals that exhibit “Rising Star” qualities.
