An Evening with the United States Army’s Top Lawyer

The Cadwalader Veterans Network and the Women’s Leadership Initiative are honored to host Lieutenant General Flora D. Darpino, the 39th Judge Advocate General (TJAG) of the United States Army, who has dealt with the most cutting-edge legal issues facing today’s post-9/11 military.

Lieutenant General Darpino will discuss her nearly thirty-year military career, which has included domestic and international roles at some of the United States Army's most premier legal assignments, multiple combat tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, serving as commander of The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School, and culminating in her selection as the first woman to hold the position of TJAG. She will also discuss the issues she has faced during her term, including the integration of women into combat roles, and the addressing of sexual assault and sexual harassment in the United States military.
