Will McDermott is an associate in Cadwalader’s Financial Restructuring practice and a member of the firm's Capital Solutions & Special Situations team. Will advises clients on complex restructuring matters, including liability management transactions, creditor-side representation, and Chapter 11 reorganizations. He represents a range of secured and unsecured lenders, private credit providers, ad hoc creditor groups, and other stakeholders in both in-court and out-of-court restructuring contexts. Will’s work spans debtor and creditor strategic counseling across a variety of financial restructuring and distressed situations.
Prior to joining Cadwalader, Will was an associate at two large multinational law firms and clerked for the Honorable Ann M. Nevins of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut.
Will earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as an editor for the Virginia Journal of Law & Technology and Chief Financial Officer of Rivanna Investments (student-managed investment fund). Will earned his B.A. in Economics from Siena College.
