Steve Epstein advises major international and domestic financial institutions, borrowers, and issuers across commodity finance, corporate finance, structured finance, asset securitization, and secondary market mortgage finance transactions.

His practice spans the full spectrum of lending structures, covering syndicated unsecured, secured, asset-based, and asset-backed facilities, as well as domestic and international asset securitizations, structured loans, and other complex financings.

Steve brings direct institutional insight to his work, having served as a vice president and senior associate counsel at The Chase Manhattan Bank (now JPMorgan Chase), giving clients a practitioner who understands the operational and risk priorities of major financial institutions from the inside.

  • Advising agent banks on unsecured and asset-based secured syndicated commodity financing transactions ranging from US$50m to US$2.5bn.

  • Advising mortgage custodians on tri-party and other custody facilities involving major international investment banks as repo buyers, mortgage banks as sellers, and quasi-governmental agency takeout investors.
  • Advising one of the world’s largest oil trading companies on its U.S. financing activities.
  • Advising a major global financial institution on secured lending activities in connection with equity investments in distressed and recovering companies.
  • Advising borrowers and lenders on asset-based loans and structured import/export financings involving Latin America.
