Michael is an associate in the Financial Services Group, advising banks, broker-dealers and hedge funds on derivatives and financial products, their related transaction and trading regulatory issues and the drafting and negotiating of ISDA Master Agreements and Confirmations. His experience covers a wide spectrum of equity, hedge fund, currency, commodity, fixed income and insurance-linked derivatives and structured products.
He has substantial experience in the operation, maintenance and optimization of structured-note programs, as well as leading the point-to-point design and setup of securities offering platforms and their related registration statements and their documentation.
Michael also spearheads the bespoke automation of structured note programs and is experienced in the coding of offering documentation, closing documentation and their processes from launch to settlement.
Michael is familiar with and works closely with the Cadwalader tax department on taxation issues of structured products and to optimize their tax treatment.
Michael also works with the Cadwalader corporate department on corporate equity derivatives transactions, including advising activist hedge funds on securities and derivatives trading issues and hedging and monetization issues.
He earned his B.A. and B.M. from Northwestern University, and his J.D. from Cornell Law School where he served on the board of the Journal of Law and Public Policy.
Michael is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
