Mark Beardsworth is a partner in Cadwalader’s White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice, resident in the London office.
Mark focuses his practice in the defense of serious fraud and complex regulatory matters and has been involved in prosecutions brought by the Serious Fraud Office, the Financial Conduct Authority, HM Revenue and Customs, and the Financial Reporting Council. These cases are often complex, high profile and international in nature.
Mark conducts internal investigations for corporates, regulators and other entities and advises companies and their directors on risk and governance issues. His experience is multi - jurisdictional and cross-sector. He helps clients to manage and avoid reputational and enforcement risk in a wide range of scenarios.
With over 20 years of experience Mark is recognized as a leader in the field of White Collar crime in The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners directories. He is also recognized as a Thought and Global Leader in Who’s Who Legal and Global Investigations Review for Asset Recovery, Business Crime Defence – Corporates and Individuals, and Investigations. He is also recognized in the Best Lawyers in the United Kingdom Guide.
Mark is Chair of the American Bar Association's International White Collar Crime Committee and an honorary member of the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (AIJA). He is the principal Editor of the recent ABA publication An International Guide to Corporate Internal Investigations.
Mark received his LL.B from The University of Manchester. He is admitted to practice in England and Wales.
