Larry has practiced for over 35 years with a focus on bankruptcy, restructuring, antitrust, complex financial products, securities, complex litigation, and dispute resolution. He has served in senior roles in-house and as outside counsel and advisor to diverse organizations. Since its inaugural issue in 2020, Larry has been named in Lawdragon’s list of “500 Leading U.S. Bankruptcy & Restructuring Lawyers” and since 2021 was named to its list of “500 Leading Plaintiff Financial Lawyers in America.” Recently, he was added to the inaugural “Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America” guide.

Prior to joining Cadwalader as a partner, Larry was a partner at Boies Schiller Flexner LLP. Before Boies Schiller, he served for a decade as a Managing Director and Head of Bankruptcy Strategic Advisory, Derivatives, at Lehman Brothers Holdings, reporting to the CEO. Larry was responsible for developing legal strategies and resolving disputes arising from the unwinding of Lehman’s derivatives book. A trained mediator, he was lead negotiator in over 500 derivatives and mortgage-related mediations.

Before joining Lehman, Larry was a Managing Director in the Legal Department at Goldman Sachs with responsibility for bankruptcy and credit matters globally, serving on the Firmwide Credit Policy Committee and the Divisional Risk Committee. Prior to Goldman, Larry was part of the senior management team of the legal and compliance department at Credit Suisse First Boston. Before CSFB, he engaged in private practice.

Larry has served in various financial industry leadership roles in connection with complex financial products. As Vice Chairman of the global Financial Law Reform Group at ISDA, Larry represented the industry in treaty and convention negotiations in the Hague, Rome and Geneva. Larry was also selected to the Financial Contracts, Derivatives and Safe Harbors Advisory Committee to the American Bankruptcy Institute Commission on Chapter 11 Reform.

Larry is an alumni leader at Harvard College and Cornell Law School. He serves on the CLS Advisory Council, as Co-Chair of the CLS Dean’s Special Leadership Committee, and on philanthropic committees at Harvard. Larry also sits on the Penn State School of Hospitality Management Industry Advisory Board. He also serves on the Board of Penn State Hillel. Larry has also been a member of parent philanthropic committees and chaired a legislative advocacy group at Penn State. He has served as a Trustee at Poly Prep Country Day School.

Larry received his J.D. from Cornell Law School and his A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard College.
