Karina Velez is a counsel in Cadwalader’s Finance Group. Her practice focuses on representing banks and financial institutions in fund finance and other commercial lending transactions. She regularly advises lenders in connection with subscription credit facilities, umbrella facilities, management fee lines and GP lines for private investment funds.
In addition to her fund finance practice, Karina represents lenders in a broad range of growth capital financings for operating companies at various stages of development, including asset based loans, equipment financings and other credit facilities secured by accounts receivable, inventory and recurring revenue streams. She partners closely with clients throughout the lifecycle of a transaction, from structuring through execution and closing, and is valued for her practical judgment and commitment to helping clients navigate complex financings and achieve their objectives. Her experience spans both bilateral and syndicated credit facilities.
Karina earned her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law, where she served as Articles Editor of the Administrative Law Review. She received her B.A. from the University of Florida.
