Joseph Gambino is a special counsel in Cadwalader’s Capital Markets Group. His primary practice focuses on representing underwriters of CLOs backed by pools of broadly-syndicated and middle market loans and structured credit vehicles backed by corporate bonds and other credit products. Joe’s practice also involves representing commercial banks in structuring securitization finance facilities, organizing onshore and offshore investment vehicles and developing, negotiating and documenting a wide variety of financial products.
Joe’s 12-plus years as a CDO structurer and secondary market sales/trader focused on derivative-, credit- and mortgage-based structured products and other esoteric financial instruments. His experience in structured product ranges from “on-the-run” products, such as CLOs and CBOs, to the esoteric, such as CDOs backed by trust preferred securities and hedge fund interests, bespoke structured credit derivatives and life settlement backed instruments. Prior to his time working on Wall Street, Joe was an associate at Cadwalader focused on CDOs and structured credit derivatives.
Joe received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, while working full-time in the Futures and Derivatives Law Group at Prudential Securities. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Marist College. He is admitted to practice in New York.
