Elena Bernal is a special counsel in the Capital Markets Group in Cadwalader’s London office.
Elena focuses her practice on structured finance and capital markets transactions. She advises arrangers and financial institutions on a wide range of structured finance and cross border transactions, with an emphasis on private asset-backed facilities to funds and middle-market facilities. Elena also acts on a variety of CLO transactions and warehouse facilities representing arrangers and asset managers. In addition, Elena has a broader structured finance and capital markets experience including securitisations of residential mortgages, auto loans and consumer loans, private placements, debt capital markets transactions, including EMTN programmes and standalone Eurobond issuances, and liability management transactions.
In 2020, Elena was seconded to a derivatives team in Barclays Bank to assist with the LIBOR transition. She was also seconded to the structured products teams at Goldman Sachs and Lloyds Bank, and to the DCM transaction management team in Merrill Lynch.
Elena is admitted to practice in England and Wales and in California.
