Drew Newman is an associate in the firm’s Corporate & Financial Services Litigation & Regulation and White Collar Defense and Investigations Practices. Drew represents corporations and individuals in a range of complex commercial and corporate litigation matters, government and internal investigations, white collar criminal defense matters, regulatory inquiries, and compliance issues. 

Drew has represented clients in federal and state courts both at trial and on appeal on wide-ranging issues involving stock sales, contract disputes, consumer finance and lending, civil RICO, and state consumer and tort claims. Drew also has represented clients in government enforcement matters and internal investigations. He served on the trial team that obtained an acquittal for the former CEO of the nation’s second largest poultry producer on criminal antitrust conspiracy charges. Drew has also represented corporations and individuals in investigations and enforcement actions brought by various federal and state regulators, including the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and various state attorneys general.

Drew began his career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP and served as a law clerk for the Honorable Trevor N. McFadden on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

Drew graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center and was elected to the Order of the Coif. During law school, Drew served on the Georgetown Law Journal as an Executive Editor of the Annual Review of Criminal Procedure. Drew earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with highest distinction and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Drew is admitted to practice in North Carolina and the District of Columbia.
