Deanna Thompson is an associate in Cadwalader’s Intellectual Property Group. She focuses her practice on patent and trade secret litigation. Deanna handles cases involving a variety of technology areas, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, catalysis, battery separators, and computer software. She has experience in all phases of litigation, including pre-suit investigations, fact and expert discovery, motion practice, trial, and appellate proceedings.
Deanna received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School. During law school, she competed on the Intercollegiate Mock Trial Team, served as a research assistant for Professor Francis X. Shen, and represented indigent clients as a Certified Student Attorney with the University’s Housing Clinic. Before law school, Deanna drafted patent applications for IBM. She received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
