Cadwalader partner Tom Grodecki was quoted in The Times’ coverage of Serious Fraud Office ("SFO") director Nick Ephgrave’s early departure and the uncertainty it creates for the agency’s future.
Tom commented that appointing the first former police officer to head the SFO was “a bold stroke which has had a visible impact,” noting that after years of the SFO being dismissed as a slow-moving legal bureaucracy, Ephgrave secured record funding along with the political buy-in to transform a demoralised SFO into an assertive, credible and intelligence-led agency.
