The briefing also pointed to rising lateral mobility driven by private credit growth, sponsor behavior, macroeconomic volatility and the convergence of restructuring and finance. It noted that U.S. lateral hiring of restructuring partners has reached 96 moves year to date, putting 2026 on pace to exceed last year’s total.
