Hogan Lovells is undertaking a London office reorganization ahead of its July 1 merger with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, as the firms prepare to integrate teams and operations.
Cadwalader’s London lawyers and staff will relocate to Hogan Lovells’ Atlantic House office in two phases in July. To support integration, approximately 400 Hogan Lovells personnel will also be repositioned within the office to encourage collaboration across the combined firm.
Both firms have taken a phased approach to integration, supported by joint meetings and team-building efforts. Cadwalader partner Smridhi Gulati, who will serve on the combined firm’s London Office Management Committee, said, “We’ve been doing it in bitesize chunks, so it’s not been overwhelming.” She also said, “The thoughtfulness from the Hogan Lovells side has been phenomenal.”
The merger is expected to strengthen the firm’s capabilities in financial services, combining Hogan Lovells’ global platform with Cadwalader’s depth in structured finance and related areas.
