Cadwalader partner Andrea Nixon was quoted in an Inside Mortgage Finance article discussing how investors and lenders are enhancing their fraud prevention efforts in response to recent high-profile issues in the ABS market. The story was featured in the electronic edition of Inside MBS & ABS.
“Everyone is hoping that recent fraud issues were isolated instances, but prudent lenders are always going to proactively examine their documentation to include the most up-to-date mitigants and robust safeguards,” Andrea said.
She emphasized that developing effective fraud-mitigation solutions will require time and cross-industry collaboration. “The solution to fraud mitigation is going to take some time to figure out and it’s going to take collaboration from different contributors and counterparties in the space to weigh in,” Andrea said.
