Cadwalader Named to Bloomberg Law’s Inaugural Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Framework

October 27, 2021

Cadwalader has been named to Bloomberg Law’s inaugural Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Framework. It is one of 28 U.S.-based law firms recognized for their level of disclosure of diversity-related metrics and distinguished performance against six core pillars: demographics, leadership and talent pipeline, recruitment and retention, business innovation and strategy, marketing, and diversity & inclusion in the community. More information about the first-of-its-kind Bloomberg Law 2021 DEI Framework, the methodology, and a full list of members is available here.

Bloomberg Law’s DEI Framework was developed in collaboration with Bloomberg’s Gender-Equality Index team, as well as diversity leads at corporations and U.S.-based law firms. Performance was assessed across more than 85 metrics, each associated with one of the framework’s six core pillars.

Going forward, the methodology and membership criteria will be reviewed and updated annually to ensure alignment with industry trends, methodologies, and best practices.

“We are honored to be among the 28 U.S.-based law firms to be named as a member of Bloomberg Law’s inaugural DEI framework,” said Aisha Greene, Cadwalader’s Director of Attorney Development and Training. “Working across the firm’s many initiatives as part of the Cadwalader Center for Diversity and Inclusion, every day we aim to focus on and improve upon critical DEI pillars, including those that are featured in this noteworthy study.”

“It is always encouraging – and inspiring – to learn about the efforts of other leading firms in our collective efforts to promote and expand diversity in the legal industry,” she added.

The Cadwalader Center for Diversity & Inclusion (CCDI) is the firm’s organizing body and central resource for its multi-faceted diversity programs. The CCDI’s 10-person global Diversity Committee, chaired by Cadwalader Managing Partner Pat Quinn and supported by Aisha Greene and Manager of Diversity and Inclusion La Tonya Brooks, is focused on developing tomorrow’s diverse leaders by investing in their success today. As steward of the firm’s robust diversity and inclusion agenda, the committee aims to improve on existing programs and launch new initiatives that will expand opportunities in retention and promotion, career development and business development for the firm’s diverse and women attorneys.
