2024 Justice Served Campaign to Fight Hunger Enters Home Stretch

March 11, 2024

The ninth annual Justice Served campaign will conclude on March 15, 2024, and Food Bank For New York City, Cadwalader and over 40 law firms and corporate legal departments are asking the community to donate funds, volunteer or simply spread the word to help fight food insecurity and hunger.

As an estimated 1.2 million New Yorkers experience food insecurity, the New York City legal community has joined together to help by donating funds and volunteering.  100 percent of the funds collected will benefit Food Bank For New York City’s hunger-relief programs, which reach an estimated 1.6 million New Yorkers throughout the five boroughs. With one week to go in the 2024 campaign, Justice Served has raised over 625,000 meals toward its goal of 1 million meals.

“While the official campaign concludes on March 15, donations to Justice Served are welcome and encouraged throughout the year,” said Ed Ilsen, Food Bank’s Business Partnerships Manager. “Justice Served helps empower every New Yorker to achieve food security for good.”

Lary Stromfeld, partner at Cadwalader, executive vice chair of Food Bank’s board of directors and founder of Justice Served in 2015, added “Through the pandemic, Food Bank distributed more than 121 million meals to address the unprecedented need in our city. Despite the steps toward normalcy in our lives, food insecurity and hunger are at an unprecedented high in New York City. Cadwalader is proud to stand alongside the participating firms and companies who share our vision for a city where no one goes hungry.”
