Cadwalader partner Jodi L. Avergun will speak at the 2016 Mortgage Bankers Association Legal Issues & Regulatory Compliance Conference on May 3 in Denver. Her session, “New Challenges to Mortgage Lending – From Marijuana Money to Reaching Millennials,” will examine contemporary issues affecting the lending industries.

Avergun’s practice focuses on representing financial institutions, corporations and individuals in criminal and regulatory matters involving, among other things, the FCPA, securities enforcement, anti-money laundering, health care, and general white collar matters. Prior to joining Cadwalader, she spent 17 years as a federal prosecutor with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York and with the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice. Avergun also served as the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
