Alex Hokenson is an associate in Cadwalader’s White Collar Defense and Investigations group. He regularly handles matters focused on alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the Controlled Substances Act, and securities laws and regulations.
Alex received his J.D. with honors from George Washington University Law School, where he was a member of the Journal of Energy and Environmental Law, and his B.A. in political science from Temple University. During law school, Alex interned at the Department of Justice in the Narcotic and Dangerous Drug Section, working with NDDS attorneys on pharmaceutical diversion and international drug trafficking cases.
Alex also currently serves as a JAG in the Coast Guard Reserve and previously served as an active duty officer prior to law school. Alex led a counter-narcotics team in Miami, FL, where he worked closely with the DEA, CBP, the British Serious Organized Crime Agency and the DOJ on maritime drug interdiction cases. Alex also served as the Course Manager of the Coast Guard’s primary law enforcement course at the Maritime Law Enforcement Academy in Charleston, SC.
