This week we catch up with Gail Boyle on the current state of the market, career advice and the fund finance outlook. Gail is a senior banker in the Fund Finance space for MUFG Union Bank. Her clients and her practice are primarily centered in the Western U.S., and focuses on banking of Private Equity GPs via their specific fund borrowers – a highly successful, growing practice for the bank.
Keeping the focus on Asia, this week we profile Fi Dinh and delve into her perspectives on private capital markets and fund finance in the region, capital flows and life in Singapore. Fi is a Director of Investment Industry Finance (IIF) and Insurance Sector Finance (ISF), Asia-Pacific at ING, based in Singapore. She joined ING in 2018 to help expand ING’s fund financing business into the Asia-Pacific region. The ING IIF team operates in key financial hubs for the fund management industry, including New York, London, Luxembourg and Singapore, and provides and arranges fund financing facilities to listed and unlisted funds managed by institutional asset management firms and leading financial sponsors. Before ING, Fi spent nearly a decade at Barclays in London and Dubai, where she was Director, Financial Institutions Group and helped build a successful Private Equity coverage franchise supporting financial sponsors and alternative asset managers in EMEA and the U.S.

Previously, Mike spent 7 years with Square 1 Bank, now Pacific Western Bank, as Senior Vice President focusing on fund banking.
James is Head of Fund Finance Advisory at Intertrust, advising Private Market Funds on the raising of Fund Finance Facilities across Private Equity, Credit, Real Estate and Infrastructure. James has over 20 years of banking experience within Private Markets, spanning the areas of Fund Finance, Leveraged Finance and Sponsor Coverage. He has worked with both Large and Mid-Market sponsors in the UK and Europe and is highly experienced in all aspects of transaction origination and execution, both at the fund and portfolio company level. He was previously with the Lloyds Banking Group Fund Finance team based in London. James is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master's in Finance from London Business School.
Anna-Lise Wisdom is a Partner in the corporate team in Appleby’s Cayman office. She specializes in fund financing and regularly advises leading financial institutions in connection with subscription facilities, NAV-based facilities and hybrid facilities offered to private equity funds. She also has substantial experience in asset finance, acquisition finance and general corporate finance. Anna-Lise has been rated as a "rising star" in banking and financial services in the IFLR1000 2019 rankings. She is a co-author of the Cayman chapter of Fund Finance 2019 published by Global Legal Insights and regularly appears on global panels to debate topical issues in fund finance.
Adam co-leads the Funds Finance Team at Raiffeisen Bank International and is responsible for originating, structuring and executing fund-level financing solutions for alternative asset managers. Previously, Adam was a Relationship Manager on the Funds Team at Lloyds Banking Group and a Partner at Altius Associates, a private equity gatekeeper and fund of funds manager. He holds a LLB Law (Honors) from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and an Executive MBA from Cass Business School, City University, London.
This week we interview Scott Aleali, who is a Managing Director and leads the Private Equity Finance team in New York at First Republic Bank. His expertise includes commercial and private banking liquidity solutions for private equity management companies and their funds, investment vehicles, portfolio companies, GP/Co-Investment entities, and individual partners and principals. Prior to joining First Republic, Scott was a Managing Director at Silicon Valley Bank, where he spent 10 years banking and structuring credit solutions for private equity and venture capital firms and their portfolio companies. Scott earned his bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate and law from California State University, Long Beach.
Spencer is a Relationship Director within the Institutional Banking business of RBS International. He has been operating in the Funds space since the mid-2000s and has developed a portfolio of clients that now incorporates primary and secondary private equity funds and private debt managers.
