Michael Maloff is an associate in Cadwalader's Charlotte office. His practice is concentrated in the area of real estate finance and securitization, with a focus on complex commercial finance transactions, including representing lenders, investors, and owners in commercial real estate and asset-based lending.
Michael primarily represents large financial institutions and global investment banks in connection with the origination of complex mortgage and mezzanine debt, loan acquisitions, construction loans, loan modifications and related secondary market transactions. His experience includes securitized and syndicated debt secured by a variety of real estate collateral, including commercial office buildings, retail properties, hotels, shopping centers, skilled nursing facilities and multifamily housing, including many multi-state, multi-property pooled transactions. He also has experience with the financing of large portfolios of single-family residences and repurchase facilities. Michael is a member of the Firm Committee.
Michael received his undergraduate degree from University of Colorado, and his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Journal of International Human Rights. He is admitted to practice in North Carolina and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
