Matthew Issa is an associate in Cadwalader’s Capital Markets Group. He represents investment banks and financial institutions in their roles as issuers, underwriters and placement agents in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) transactions, including agency and private label transactions, as well as in other structured finance transactions.
Matthew received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was a Managing Editor of the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law. He received his Bachelors of Arts in International Relations and Spanish, magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama.
While in law school, Matthew interned with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of International Affairs. He is an active participant in the firm’s diversity initiatives, including the Cadwalader LGBT Network and the Cadwalader Black and Latino Association. He is admitted to practice in New York. Additionally, Matthew is fluent in Spanish.
