Jenna Rennie is an associate in the Litigation Group, based in London.

Jenna is experienced in international arbitration, litigation, ADR and contract risk management. She regularly advises on complex commercial disputes raising issues of domestic, EU and international law in matters involving a range of sectors including financial services, technology and government. Jenna also has significant advisory experience in relation to international trade and investment law, including investor state dispute settlement, having previously acted as a legal advisor to the UK government on EU and international trade and investment law.

Jenna received Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degrees from the University of Canterbury (New Zealand), as well as a Master in Law (LLM) with first class honours from the University of Cambridge. She is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, and previously qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand.

Examples of Jenna’s experience include:

  • Acting for a leading investment bank in complex multi-party, multi-jurisdictional proceedings arising out of the transfer of assets and liabilities of a collapsed bank in a EU member state to a “bridge” bank, including the legal effect of various resolutions of the member state’s central bank on the transferability of a substantial loan;
  • Acting for a multinational soft commodities trading company in three UNCITRAL arbitrations against a Kazakhstan entity claiming over US $30m in respect of shipped consignments of sugar;
  • Acting for a mobile communications company in a high-profile dispute relating to a contract tender process;
  • Advising investors in an investment treaty dispute under the ICSID rules, in relation to a hotel development project.
