Joshua Arnold represents domestic and international financial institutions and other public and privately-held corporations and their officers and directors involved in complex commercial litigation. Josh has helped clients resolve contractual disputes involving commercial mortgage-backed securities and other structured products, bankruptcy matters, class actions, shareholder derivative and merger-related litigations and other complex business litigation matters in all phases of litigation proceedings, from the pleading stage through trial and appeal, in a variety of federal and state courts across the country.
Recognized by the New York State Bar Association for his strong commitment to pro bono work, Josh is actively involved in a wide range of matters, including the representation of a federal death row inmate challenging his criminal conviction and death sentence; a private not-for-profit educational and cultural New York City institution against a civil rights tort claim; and a victim of domestic abuse seeking asylum under United States immigration laws. In addition, Josh develops and presents continuing legal education (CLE) programs for clients and other attorneys on various topics, including ethics and privilege issues and civil procedural rules and best practices with respect to both electronic and traditional discovery.
Josh received a Bachelor of Arts, with Distinction and as an Honors Division Scholar, from Indiana University in 2001. He earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2008, where he served an externship at the United States Federal Public Defender’s Office in Newark, N.J., participated in multiple interscholastic moot court competitions and was recognized as the 2008 Outstanding Practitioner for his work at the Center for Social Justice Civil Litigation Clinic. Josh is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
