The Chambers and Partners' Women in Law Awards ceremony honoring female lawyers in the U.S. was held last night at The Plaza in New York to showcase the success of women lawyers in market-leading practices and recognize younger lawyers who are making waves, and law firms and corporates committed to diversity. Cadwalader was shortlisted for the Most Innovative Gender Diversity Initiative for its Women’s Leadership Initiative while Capital Markets luminary Anna Glick was shortlisted as Finance Lawyer of the Year.
Cadwalader’s Women’s Leadership Initiative seeks to create a work environment in which all personnel have equal opportunity in all areas of their professional lives and are able to maximize their potential and productivity. The group focuses its efforts on promoting client relationships for women to develop them as business savvy leaders at the firm; training women attorneys in presentation skills and substantive legal acuity; reaching out to the community to support women in meeting their professional obligation toward benevolence in society; and working to guide women law students through the job seeking process and increase the exposure of law students to the possibilities for women at a law firm.
Anna Glick is an exceptional practitioner in the field of securitization, with more than 25 years of experience representing issuers, underwriters, institutional investors and servicers active in the primary and secondary capital markets. Most recently focused in the area of commercial mortgage-backed securitizations, she has represented parties in billons of dollars of securities offerings, many of which include novel structures and features. She also advises on federal securities laws issues particular to these types of securitizations and related securities compliance matters.
More than 200 guests participated in the event, which was supported by many of America's leading corporate counsel, who are the driving force for diversity in US law firms.
