This is a unique opportunity to build an offering from the ground up for an AmLaw 100 firm and, in the process, help Cadwalader advance critical strategic goals related to business development and talent management.

Responsibilities:

  • Help develop and support the strategy around alumni-facing activities to grow Cadwalader’s alumni footprint by generating awareness, creating networking opportunities, and identifying and assisting in developing business development opportunities.

  • Oversee near-term initiatives to re-establish the alumni program, including Initial goals of performing data hygiene, establishing/refreshing an alumni extranet and social media presence, implementing a dedicated events calendar, implementing a job board and a regular cadence of newsletter-style communications featuring news about the firm, alumni and benefits (e.g., CLE offerings).
  • Develop longer-term project action plans that advance the alumni program’s key objectives, including contributing to revenue generation and referral opportunities; fostering external brand ambassadors who can share positive news and goodwill related to the firm; facilitating opportunities for recruitment, outplacement and connection within our alumni network; providing opportunities for alumni to participate in and give back to the Cadwalader community; and establishing an organized exit process for departing personnel.
  • Establish KPIs and notable data insights to report regularly on the above to firm leadership and the Alumni Committee.
  • Assess existing resources against near- and longer-term efforts, and make recommendations for improving current service delivery and achieving sustainable alumni program success.
  • Other duties or special projects may be assigned.

To be successful, the candidate will need:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Exceptional internal and external client service and a “can do” approach to work and collaboration.

        • effectively interface with firm leadership and alumni, many of whom are active clients and/or sources of business referrals
        • think outside of the box and offer creative solutions.
        • work in a fast-paced environment while exhibiting a strong attention to detail.
        • be a self-starter who can proactively alert colleagues about project deadlines, action items and potential challenges to meeting goals.
  • To be in the office three days per week, with additional attendance required based on the needs of the business, including events outside of normal business hours.
  • To be prepared to monitor email outside of normal business hours and be available as needed.
  • A willingness to travel, if needed.
