Cadwalader’s Commitment to Fighting Food Insecurity

The Firm was recently recognized with a Food Drive Partner Award from Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina for its support of Legal Feeding Frenzy, an annual joint program of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and Feeding the Carolinas food banks. The campaign aims to fight hunger across North Carolina by uniting the legal community in support of local food banks.

Partner Joseph Beach, associate Candelario Saldana (who has served as our Legal Feeding Frenzy captain for the past 3 years) and summer associates Maria Meyerhoefer and Cara Shelhamer accepted the award on behalf of the Firm at Second Harvest’s 2023 Partner Appreciation Awards.

Fighting Hunger is one of the pillars of the Firm’s corporate social responsibility programming, and we participate in year-round hunger relief activities across all our offices. Our most recent service event took place in our London office where members of the office rallied together for an important cause: packing 500 bags of essential toiletries to be donated to Food Bank Aid (FBA), which feeds 14,000 Londoners weekly through 30 food banks. We were honored to have FBA’s Founder & Chair of Trustees, Naomi Russell, in attendance to deliver an inspiring talk on the vital role of food banks and the rising demand for their services.
