April Oliver is a senior litigation associate in Cadwalader's Washington office. April has represented both individuals and corporations in a wide range of complex civil and criminal matters.  A substantial part of April's practice is focused on white collar defense and compliance issues. She has managed numerous complex internal investigations, on a wide variety of subjects, including related to fraud, conflict-of-interest, bribery, gratuities, national security and contractual matters.  She recently represented a major automobile parts manufacturer in litigation with a lender and investor (Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland).  She also has represented an entity during a lengthy Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigation involving the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission.

April joined Cadwalader in 2003 after working with another law firm on white collar matters.  She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law, where she was a member of the George Mason Law Review, Client Counseling Champion, and a writing instructor.  April received her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, where her thesis won the DeWitt Clinton Poole Memorial Prize Scholarship.

Currently, April is Co-Chair, ABA White Collar Crime Subcommittee, Young Lawyers Section.  She serves as an Associate Trustee of the Washington Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs.  She is also co-chair of Cadwalader's Subcommittee on Professional Development, under the Women's Leadership Initiative.  She is active in the ABA's Commission on Women and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
