A. Joseph Jay III

A. Joseph Jay III has represented corporations and individuals in a wide range of criminal and regulatory matters, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, securities and accounting fraud, and conflict-of-interest, bribery, and gratuity allegations under federal law.  He regularly conducts internal investigations which concern a range of alleged misconduct and represents corporations and individuals before the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, federal Inspector Generals, and U.S. Attorney's Offices. Mr. Jay also has also counseled financial institutions in matters concerning U.S. economic sanctions programs, including voluntary disclosures to the Office of Foreign Asset Control of the Department of the Treasury concerning transactions involving sanctioned countries or persons.  

Mr. Jay earned his J.D. from the William & Mary School of Law, where he was honored with the Phoenix Award for service to the university.  He received his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude from The College of William & Mary, where he was recognized for his leadership, scholarship, and service by election to Omicron Delta Kappa.

Mr. Jay is admitted in Virginia and Washington, D.C., as well as to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia
