Pro Bono, Community Service and Diversity
Osvaldo Garcia, an attorney in Cadwalader's Private Wealth Group, was awarded the New York State Bar Association's 2016 President's Pro Bono Service Award in the Young Lawyer category.
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has awarded Cadwalader a perfect score in the 2017 Corporate Equality Index as part of its Best Places to Work initiative.
Cadwalader received a 2016 Pro Bono Publico Award for outstanding service to The Legal Aid Society.
Kathy Hirata Chin was named a 2015 Diversity & Inclusion Champion by the New York City Bar Association.

The Empire State Counsel Program recognized the efforts of Cadwalader attorneys who donated their time and expertise to help low-income and vulnerable persons who otherwise could not afford an attorney gain access to the civil justice system.
Cadwalader received the Washington Lawyers’ Committee (WLC) Outstanding Achievement Award for representation of a District of Columbia parolee who had been erroneously miscategorized during the parole process. Under the auspices of the WLC DC Prisoners’ Project, Cadwalader secured a favorable settlement that will serve as an important precedent for others to challenge the application of unduly restrictive parole conditions.
