Cadwalader fields "one of the best derivatives practices in the country, without a shadow of a doubt"
- Chambers USA

Cadwalader’s early roots in the derivatives business representing issuers, dealers and end-users provide us with an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of capital markets transactions. Our international derivatives practice encompasses a wide variety of products and transactions, including fixed income, equity, currency, and derivative linked swaps, forwards, notes, warrants, caps, floors, collars, total return instruments, options, credit derivatives, mortgage- and asset-backed derivatives, municipal derivatives, futures contracts, forward delivery contracts, guaranteed investment contracts, securities and other instruments with embedded derivatives (such as structured notes), and other hybrid and synthetic products.

Cadwalader is also active in the asset repackaging and structured derivatives products markets, including CBOs, CLOs and the use of grantor trust and owner trust structures, to reconfigure the cash flows of asset-backed securities and other securities, including Brady Bonds, emerging market government bonds and loans, Eurobonds, and U.S. government agency securities.

In addition, we represent clients in primary and secondary municipal market transactions, including investment agreements, synthetic tender option securities, swaps and other risk, management transactions, securitizations of financial institution assets and municipal asset repackaging.
