Iain Balkwill focuses his practice on commercial mortgage-backed securitisations. He has acted for a number of managers, including Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Capmark, Bear Stearns, and JPMorgan, in the securitisation of pools of commercial mortgage loans.

Iain graduated from the University of Durham (University College), where he obtained an Upper Second Class Honours degree in Environmental Geoscience. He then studied for the Common Professional Examination and the Legal Practice Course at Oxford Brookes University and the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice, respectively. Iain trained with Cadwalader and qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.
